BOGO deals can often confuse newbies to world of coupons, so let me give you a little rundown of how it works.
If a store is having a sale, in which an item is BOGO (or Buy 1, Get 1), how do you stack coupons to get your price down even more?
First, you can use 1 manufacturer coupon and 1 store coupon per item purchased, even for the item you are receiving free. So if you are buying 2 items, you can use 2 manufacturer coupons and 2 store coupons on top of the BOGO sale. Remember if your coupon is $$/2, then that counts for both items, so you can only use one coupon. If you have a BOGO coupon, it can be stacked with the BOGO sale and get you get both items completely free! You will have to pay tax, if applicable.
Even if there isn't a BOGO sale, the coupons will still work the same!
How about an example?
Scenario (from old CVS ad):
1 L'Oreal Lip Gloss $8.99
1 L'Oreal True Match Powder $10.99
Use $2/1 L'Oreal Lip Product (RP 01/04/09)
Use $2/1 L'Oreal True Match Product (RP 01/04/09)
Use $3/$10 CVS Coupon (CRT)
Subtract BOGO Sale -$8.99
Final OOP (before taxes): $3.99
Scenario (from old Walgreens ad):
1 L'Oreal Shampoo $4.99
1 L'Oreal Conditioner $4.99
Use BOGO L'Oreal Hair Product Coupon (from old insert) (worth $4.99)
Subtract BOGO Sale -$4.99
Final OOP (before taxes): $0
Keep in mind , at some stores BOGO actually mean 50% off, like at Kroger. Check the 101's for each grocery store to find out how BOGO sales work at that particular store.
