Meijer 201: Working a 10/$10, 11th Item FREE

Meijer's 10/$10, 11th Item FREE deal is already a sweet deal, a true frugal shopper can make it even better. If you buy 10 or less items, each one will be priced $1.00. However, if you buy 11 items, they'll each be $0.91. You can, however, knock that out-of-pocket figure down even more using coupons.

The Goal: Stack a 10/$10, 11th Item FREE deal with coupons and watch how little you'll spend, but how much you'll get.

Here's an example using the deals from this week:

Buy 1 Glaceau Vitamin Water (Use $1/1)
Buy 1 Hunts Ketchup (Use $0.20/1 & it doubles)
Buy 1 Pillsbury Cake Mix or Frosting (Use $0.35/1 & it doubles)
Buy 2 Ken's Salad Dressing (Use $1/2)
Buy 2 Aunt Millie's Bread (Use 2- $0.35/1 & it doubles)
Buy 2 Bar S Meat Franks or Bologna (Use $1/2)
Buy 2 Country Crock Butters (Use 2- $0.25/1 & it doubles & stack with Meijer $1/2)

GRAND TOTAL: $11.00
COUPON TOTAL: $7.50
11th Item FREE: $1.00
FINAL OOP: $2.50 + Tax

TIP: While most items are discounted, check the regular tag underneath to make sure you're really getting a good deal. Some items are regularly priced at $1.00. Phantom sales, which are items marked on sale that truly have little or no savings, often creep up during 10/$10 sales.
