Tuesday's Tip 29: Know Your Rights

It's inevitable. You spend time laying down the best plan of attack for the grocery store, your coupons are in order, and you items are in your cart... and you get the argumentative cashier. Not all cashiers understand coupons and unfortunately, neither do all managers.

The best way to combat a lack of coupon knowledge is to know your rights. If you know the nationwide or local coupon policy for the stores you frequent, you can stand up for your rights. If a store refuses to accept legitimate coupons you know they should be accepting, contact their headquarters or store owner. Typically this results in a coupon education class for the current employees or you receive a letter stating the coupon policy, that you can carry with you as back up.

Get armed with knowledge by visiting my 101's for each store you frequent!
