After canceling my newspaper subscription, I had to make a trip to CVS today to grab a paper and get my coupons! Now that you got to check out my shopping plan on Thursday, today you can find out how it all went down. First, since my not-yet-born son did decide to knock my pelvic bone around, I didn't really get to go shopping for two-weeks, I had a little extra money and did something I don't normally do - impulse shopped!

MEIJER
A NOTE ABOUT MEIJER: Since I had 1-2 coupons for every item I purchased at Meijer, I annoyed the poor teenage cashier to the breaking point. Almost every coupon beeped, so at first he checked each of them to make sure I had the required items, but after he realized I knew what I was doing he stopped caring. Eventually, he changed the system so it just accepted all my coupons and even through I tried to be helpful and tell him the $1/1 had to be adjusted down to $0.99 (and so on), he rang them all up at full price. He even rang my BOGO coupons and FREE coupons at a random amount he picked (which was always higher than the real amount), instead of going back to check the current price! Though I felt bad for him, because he was obviously having a bad day, he really gave me a nice little bonus.

I finally got out and about to grocery shop again, which we desperately needed. I did drag my poor husband with me to push the cart and help out. Since he was there, I attempted to educate him on the art of the $/$$ coupon and the brilliance of my well thought out shopping "plan of attack". I'm not quite sure he got it, since he never did stop asking, "Why don't we just buy X here?" or "Want to buy this instead?". My 4 year old had to keep reminding him, "We stick to the list, Dad." Saturday's Shopping Trip (Beth's)

In case you had it in your head that I was perfect and always found great bargains, you can put that thought aside today! Two days ago, my son (who has yet to be born) decided to start antagonizing his mom early and caused my pelvic bone to drop on one side and twist. After physical therapy today and I thought I could handle shopping, but half way through forgot about saving money and concentrated on getting home quickly, which meant shopping at Target right down the street. I grabbed the necessities and even forgot milk. I didn't do terrible, but I did miss tons of great deals this week at Meijer and Kroger!

Even worse, when I got home my husband wasn't home yet. Since I realized standing and cooking wasn't going to be an option, I fed my children a dinner of celery sticks dipped in peanut butter, grapes, cheese cubes, and Pop-Tarts! They loved it.
